Canada Post Corporation is the primary postal operator in Canada and provides service to more than 16 million customers from coast to coast. With over 6200 post offices across the country, Canada Post employs a large number of workers through its “to the door “ delivery model and offers a vital infrastructure service to millions of Canadians.
Canada Post approached Qwick Media to provide interactive touchscreen directories to highlight businesses and services available in their new community hub centres. This new pilot project aimed to provide increased access to banking and business services in underserved Indigenous communities. Canada Post needed a technology provider that could not only deliver a cutting edge interactive solution but also one who understood the cultural complexity of the communities this project would serve. Additionally, as a crown corporation, Canada Post was obligated by government regulations to find a company that could deliver technology solutions in both English and French.
With over ten years of experience, Qwick Media has been honoured to work with Indigenous clients, providing technology solutions to showcase their languages and cultures.
And, one such client was the NK’MIP Desert Cultural Centre in Osoyoos, BC. Experience garnered from this past endeavour was applied to the Canada Post project to ensure appropriate levels of cultural respect was given to the creation of any technology solutions. Qwick Media also had the opportunity to work with Stanton Hospital in building self-service solutions that could be accessed in 9 Indigenous languages. The experience gained from these projects allowed the Qwick Media team to seamlessly execute and deploy its new solution for Canada Post.
