Discover Saint John’s
Saint John’s is the bustling capital city of Newfoundland and Labrador, located on Canada’s East coast in the province of New Brunswick. Home to many national historic sites, museums, parks, and other attractions, Saint John’s sees over 1.5 million visitors each year with many arriving via cruise ships.
Saint John’s tourism bureau needed a way to ensure all these welcomed visitors had the most engaging stay, experiencing everything the city had to offer. The city needed a self-service solution to provide its visitors with instantaneous information about local attractions, events, shopping amenities and restaurants in Saint John’s. They were seeking a digital solution that would align with the cities environmentaly conscious practices in order to reduce the need for costly and unsustainable printed marketing materials.
Qwick Media deployed a network of touchscreen kiosks strategically placed in city hot spots. With smart search features, visitors are able to discover attractions and amenities based on their interests while booking and paying for them directly on the kiosk. To keep visitors constantly connected, kiosks were outfitted with features that allowed visitors to send information like ticket bookings and reservations to their mobile devices via text, email, and QR code. Providing travelers with accessible information, relevant to their interests, was directly connected to an increase in generated tourism revenue for the city without the need to hire additional staff. With built-in analytics, Saint John’s was able to directly track the success of their project and use the data from their network to inform future marketing campaigns.
